Semester at Sea Scholarships

Semester at Sea is dedicated to making shipboard education a possibility for any and all students. The Institute for Shipboard Education (ISE - of which Semester at Sea is a part) awards $4 million in financial aid annually.

Requirements: In order to apply for any Semester at Sea aid students need to have been accepted on a Semester at Sea Voyage, and have paid the $500 deposit. To be eligible, students do not necessarily need to qualify for standard forms of financial aid (such as Pell Grants) on their home campuses. Applicants are strongly encouraged to file the FAFSA and submit the Student Aid Report to ISE along with tax returns from the most recent tax year and any supplemental information that might be helpful in our review.

Deadlines: Various, and some are rolling. Summer Voyage deadlines typically in March, Fall Voyage deadlines are in April and May, and Spring Voyage (Winter/Spring terms) deadlines are in September.

Applications: Many forms of SAS aid having rolling deadlines, and several of the need and merit based grants are considered without a special application. For full or partial tuition scholarships and work study positions please see the Semester at Sea website.

For information on applying to the Semester at Sea program see the OSU page as well as the Semester at Sea website.
