The Advisor Coffee Talks (ACT) provide a space for academic advisors and academic counselors to engage in professional development opportunities. Volunteer members work to facilitate productive conversations between advisors and counselors with other student service units on campus. Most events are 1 hour to allow for a presentation and questions; each term there will be a 2-hour event which includes more participation and/or hands-on training. Events are open to anyone interested in attending. On campus programs with an advising or academic counseling component, or that may be of interest to these communities, are encouraged to express interest in presenting at an event by contacting one of the current ACT coordinators.

OSU academic advisors can access the Canvas for Advisors site for a detailed list of upcoming Advisor Coffee Talk events as well as information posted after each event.  If you are a new advisor or do not have access to Canvas for Advisors , please contact Jeff Malone, the Coordinator of Cross Campus Advisor Initiatives & Development.
